Biography
Dino Buzzati was born in Belluno in 1906. A writer and journalist for the Corriere della Sera, he blended the realism of reportage with a taste for the fantastic and for waiting. He is the author of The Tartar Steppe, a novel about waiting for an enemy who never comes, and of collections such as Catastrophe and Restless Nights. He died in Milan in 1972.
