Émilie Charpentier

Émilie Charpentier grew up in Nantes, between a librarian mother and summers spent reading aloud to a grandmother who was losing her sight. She started in theatre, then moved to dubbing and narration, where she found her place. She likes stories that stay taut without raising their voice, and the parts of teenage girls, whose voice she keeps a little off-kilter, neither quite a child nor quite an adult. She records at home, in an attic room she ended up lining with blankets, and works late, when the street goes quiet. She works with Itamde on Voctale's French-language catalogue.
